Though let's be frank I used to be/do a lot worse about things like this.

Several years ago Ulti hosted a game where "random bomb" (awful awful role wtf) acted so toxic he basically forced the game to Lynch him, and he hit scum RB by literal rng.

I was town vanilla and almost immediately MKed myself out of the game in disgust. (His repeated gloating about breaking the game didn't help this at all)

Yeah I used to be way worse many years ago.

It was mostly the "not much is happening" for me than the other things but yeah

Had that day continued beyond Ulti you would have absolutely been my first real lynch push rather than just sheeping Chris (unless he went to you)

I mean it's day 1. We don't have much to go on anyway so I wouldn't say that means it was an obvious slip-up-- like if you do that on day 2 I've probably got a better case to go on than you there so I'm not saying you misplayed, but it would have been a good first step to go on.

I suppose I could have used better verbage to explain 'not much is happening yet'. For starters I did not expect the lynch to go anywhere or get hammered. Secondly I was really just referencing the post count. It would have been more accurate to say "only 3 pages in a couple of hours, I'll catch up after VR". But the choice of words doesn't change if I'm vanilla there. The only thing I had seen was most recent votals and the number of posts. I was not an attempt to down play the lynch attempt in any way.

I'm willing to host an "actually small" (anywhere from 5 to 13 players) game if the community wants to get a feel for small games again.

Sure. Like I said it might have just been coincidence it even mattered and not a scumtell at all but it's day 1 so you gotta play it a bit loose cause there's not much evidence.

Which is why random pointless wagon is not a bad way at all to start day 1 in and of itself because that's basically what every first wagon is in day 1. This one was just faster.

But yeah. No reason at all as Blade to just rage out like that. Guarantee you that doesn't go out to more than one player-- hell if Ulti just comes back and says "I'm not claiming I already said I'm a power role" people might get off of him. I would, probably (if I had voted him anyway lol-- still can't believe I wasn't even on any of the early hammers but the last one (which wasn't even very early))

I'm not going to comment on the 5 people or the egregiousness of the posts. Tom's reaction when I asked for his and Reg's opinion was I don't see anything that looks that bad, oh wait there it is. That was over a few minutes of scanning through the last few days.

Tom and I made the choice for a few reasons. Because we didn't feel like we could single any person out in particular. Because we weren't confident the next day doesn't turn into more bad blood (even if everyone stays civil enough not to violate rule 0). And because the game was going to be in a perpetual Mylo or Lylo unless MZero struck gold every night. Based on the night actions, he would've saved the kill. But he probably dies the following night leaving you guys in MyLo unless you NK and go to LyLo.

It very well might not have been the correct call. But I hoped that it would set a good standard for future hosts and future games.

Small games are fine. And like many have said probably a good idea. This game in particular used to be a 20 person game 2 years ago. I really wanted to host it because I had the flavor written already from back then. And Tom and I had both decided to play more this summer.

But if I were to design a new game, I'd shoot for 13 players. If I hosted anything smaller it would probably be less serious and more experimental stuff.

@ everyone, What did you guys think of 52 hour days and 20 hour nights? I know we never used a full day. So we didn't really get to test it. But I like the idea.

Red claimed scum and surrendered. Blade just kind of gave up on life and stopped playing at some point.

and i didnt so much surrender as much as I needed the town to start spinning because cop had confirmed the game. I knew either IGCD was scanned inno or I was scanned scum so there was 0 way out for me.

Finished my first game on mafia universe.

Stop me if you heard this one before:

I rolled scum. My team bussed me early and I almost got lynched, but didn't. The rest of my team died. I won in final 4.

The setup was open, it was 3 scum vanilla, 8 town vanilla, 2 town mason roleblockers (1 odd night, 1 even night) and the day 1 lynch was a mason.

I was shrugging a lot.

literally the only situations I can think of where this would happen are 1) The second mason wasn't able to show up and confirm the claim before lynch or 2) Scum counterclaimed and got lynched d2 and d3in the worst trade ever

One mason was dictionary definition inactive. (Actually got auto-replaced after D3 because they failed to make 5 posts in 36 hours). The other mason got a lot of pressure and tried to soft claim very aggressively but wouldn't outright say it.

The player who replaced the second mason was apparently a very experienced and respected player. In wolf chat I told my team I should be the one to carry the kill, but was overruled. I tried to plead but just let it go because I wasn't super invested after the lolday1.

Well they got the right block. Kills were mandatory in the rules so it was essentially a 100% verifiable guaranteed scum. Town actually decided to yolo it and lynch someone other than the confirmed scum (and they were right), then next day lynched the confirmed scum. Leaving it at final 4, where it was an all out deathmatch between two town and I literally just sleepwalked through for the win. Day idled out the last few hours and ended up 2-2, in which case lynch is randomized.

Overall I do acknowledge it was probably an atypical experience, what with the day 1 mason lynch and all.

I had fun, I learned a lot, I'll play there again. But I'm gonna be a little more careful about which game I choose to sign up for.

I dont like open setups.
