I don't think Ulti would draw a shot with that claim, no. But he's the one who claimed that was his goal. So (A) what a terrible plan with that claim and (B) why wouldn't he just stick to his guns?

I voted Ulti because to me that was simply the worst looking player of the people I was okay with voting at that moment.

I need to full claim and share some info from last night.

I am Fat Tony, town kidnapper. I am kidnapper in name only, and my role actually works as a one-night neighborizer and tracker. My role pm paints it as Tony kidnapping another player to interrogate them and then letting them go, but following them. As of d2 starting I cannot continue chatting with Ulti, tracking Ulti or neighbor anyone new in future nights. I am essentially vanilla now.

Last night I kidnapped Ulti. I think he will still verify this even if hes annoyed by what I share. I neighbored Ulti with the belief he was lying about his role, regardless of alignment. But I did want hard confirmation either way on him not being an involuntary drunk-like role. He was quick to say he was vanilla baiting scum with his naive neighbor claim and I can confirm yes, Ulti didnt move last night. Overall, not surprising.

Part of our conversation really rubbed me the wrong way and has me paranoid of ulti now. Ulti, if youre town, hopefully no hard feelings. This looks bad imo and as a result warrants sharing.

Ultis first response to the neighbor thread was wtf. I told him I was indeed fat Tony, town kidnapper, but neighborizer in all but name only. He quickly speculated I could be 3p (which ) and I told him no, just town. Ulti then asked if I wanted to claim masons. This alone I could look past. What rubbed me the wrong way was when asking if I wanted to claim masons he also said people may try to kill me for claiming my actual role.

I said Id think it over with no intention of actually claiming masons. It weirded me out. Ulti returned to the subject a second time, again saying claiming Fat Tony could get me killed. That just seems like blatant manipulation and ulti trying to take advantage of an inexperienced player to me. I also reminded Ulti I had already claimed my flavor and just hadnt said yeah guys my role is kidnapper

Before the night finished he expressed a third time that I might get killed for claiming my actual role, but this time at least without bringing up the concept of claiming masons. I told Ulti Im not really worried about this considering we just found out the scum team is the Simpsons. Its clear there are some flavor and, for me, role traps in this game (not to mention sbell claiming family guy).

I dont care that much if I die considering Im effectively vanilla now.

tl;dr I neighbored Ulti last night and he suggested we claim masons two separate times while implying Id be in danger of mislynch if I claimed my actual flavor and role.

Its really hard for me not to see this as blatant manipulation hoping to get town confirmed. If ulti is scum he and the scum team would have almost zero worry about me dying and my flip ruining the lie.

Do I think town ulti would try to get town confirmed, even by lying, of course. But the combination of the repeated mason fake claim and fear mongering makes me absolutely paranoid.

I didnt tell Ulti I had a one-night track. I did tell him I was a neighborizer. Ulti talked as if my role scanned/recruited him. He said checking him was more logical than lynching and asked if I was even capable of recruiting scum. I had not implied scanning or recruiting in any way. These, I actually thought were decent comments though and I could see them coming from town ulti. It came across as fishing for an additional function of my role. I did clarify again that I had no confirmation of Ultis alignment from neighboring him.

I was debating whether or not a scumUlti would just outright kill you or keep you alive to try to make himself look better.
It does come across like he was trying to probe for information that would help him with that decision.

Now we know he didnt act last night, but that does not say that much.

As for when I decided to neighbor Ulti, it was when he wouldnt commit to whether the movement was involuntary or not on his fake claim, even though it would obviously have to be involuntary.

I will give Ulti that at least he apparently took that weirdass claim back as soon as you talked to him.

and I'm not excusing their decisions, nor do I think Red did anything wrong, but one of the easiest things to do as scum is push players for things that look bad but aren't actually scum-motivated, that way when they flip town you don't look bad. So I like to keep an eye on those things

the problem with Smash was you changed it 117 times and often times changed it as a result of being contradicted

and by the way Ulti I saw in my skimming a comment from you that I always try to lynch you day 1, but that's not true. Especially after I was wrong in Smash. I tend to get apprehensive about going after players once I've been very confident but wrong.

I think it's a positive night result for Ulti. The scum motive to aggressively claim what he did would be to make night actions without motion detector fear, so not moving defeats the purpose. I'm not going to say it was a good plan as town vanilla, and that doesn't sound like the most comfortable neighborhood in existence, but I'm still fine with Ulti. I think before the swerve to Ctes it was probably town town. Ctes could have gone to Ulti even though he weakly leaned town on him. Possible I'm wrong and it turned into a lethal double bus, not fine not pursuing that yet.

Also, Lopen was likely just killed because he was an active town leader. Sorry if I'm wrong Lopen and you're screaming at me to just get the Ulti you fool.

Yeah but town typically has multiple types of scanners and scum typically only has protection for 1 at a time.

Lea and wallz probably town. Chang could have been a vote thinking it wasn't going to matter to look good. Red vote doesn't look good.

Need to think more about the shift from ulti.
