, you don't know that their opinions won't change. I'm a firm believer in reformation. However, and more importantly, it's not just about them. If somebody sees an argument that's wrong and, without a counterbalance, decides to believe it, then the wrong idea spreads. So even if some people are intractable (the Eriks of the world), this could stop somebody from falling into that pattern.
