I'm 30, still live with my parents, and will probably inherit the house when they're gone. I don't really think it's a bad situation, just a different world we live in now. It's not as easy to make enough money to live on your own anymore. It's more of a matter of luck these days.
I wouldn't go as far as to say it's luck but it's definitely much harder now to be successful if you aren't dealt the right cards. It's a nuch longer uphill climb now if you're starting out from square one and your family isn't well off. The standards for getting a decent job are much much higher than they were in the past
Well there's definitely a good deal of luck involved, because a lot of the time, no matter how much work you put into it, sometimes it can still be impossible to get a good enough job to support yourself. It's just a different world today, and there will continue to be less and less good jobs available going forward.
