I love watching the conservative hysteria machine springs into action on topics like this. It's like watching a slightly racist game of Telephone.
I mean, let's take a look at this.
Actual thing that happened about a year ago: parliament passed a non-binding motion to study islamophobia and other forms of prejudice and develop a plan to counter it. No laws were changed, no penalties were suggested, the motion was purely a statement of the opinion of parliament with no actual material changes that would affect laws or law enforcement.
Conservatives: CANADA IS MAKING IT ILLEGAL TO CRITICIZE MUSLIMS!! THE THOUGHT POLICE ARE HERE!!!! CANADA HAS NOW BECOME FOURTH REICH NAZIS!!
