Which Final Fantasy game would you recommend I play first: FF7 or FF9?

If you liked CC, you'll probably prefer IX. That, and we have a fair bit in common and IX is among my top 3 FF games, so, yeah. *g*

Perhaps surviving through FF7 first will grow my appreciation for FF9 once I get to it.
