$800 is expensive? You get that doing a month of part time at minimum wage.

This. Plus, not every can make that depending on where you live. Thats a full paycheck from my other job when I was working full time there. The area has a low cost of living, so people get paid less here...
I wish I could get $800 working part time at minimum wage. Where the hell do you live where can you do that, anyway?
I have $800.

Canada, where TC lives. $11 is lowest minimum wage. If you can't even afford $800 then may be you should just play low end games.
I thought it was like $500 for a midrange build so I'm shocked

11 at 80 hours every two weeks (assuming you get paid every two weeks) is $880. That would mean a full time job only nets you $880 a month. So, not part time. That being said, if you live on your own, I feel most of that would go to rent. Especially in Canada. I heard rent there was higher than where I live. And then you still have other bills. So, while youre right about being able to buy an $800 computer with a part time job, that leave only $80 to spend on rent, bills, food, etc. So, not really that cheap...
Edit: Though, it actually might not be enough. I forgot to mention taxes. If taxes are taken out of the check, then you may not have enough for that computer with your monthly income of a part time job at minimum wage...
If you have a bunch of other expenses then you are probably not just working part time at minimum wage.

Uhh, what? Paying rent and eating means you're not just working part time at minimum wage? What kind of logic is that?

I don't know what math you are doing. 20 hours per week at $11 is $880 in a month. You get tax refund at such low income. If you have a bunch of other expenses then you are probably not just working part time at minimum wage.

Yeah. Did you even read the post. I said you get $880 a month. And taxes will be taken out of that. So, youll get less than $800. And just working more doesnt mean $800 is still cheap. BecIse of all the hills people pay. Rent, water, electric, gas (in some places), Internet, may car payments, gas for the car, food, everything else needed to live. For most people, $800 is just money they can throw around just because they work a lot. Just because $800 is apparently nothing to you doesnt mean everyone else is rich to just toss around $800 freely...
How is the 570 instead? Anyone got one? I've been running a radeon 4850 equivalent for the past 8 years so obviously anything modern would be a major improvement. I can make a $700 budget with a 570 I think (as long as I reuse my SSD and keep stock cooling)
I have had student loan payments >15k in the past 9 months plus rent and bills and all that so yeah I'm a little low on money, that's how life works out sometimes man what can ya do
You are right. I wasn't really reading what you said because it's all babbling to me. It was a simple example of how easy $800 can come by. I do not understand people like you who thinks $800 is for rich people. If you can't even afford $800 then may be just play cheaper games.

I mean 570 is obviously worse than 580, but it will run things at 30 fps no problem. Then again, 580 probably won't run constant 60 fps anyway.

Am I getting trolled, looked at benchmarks and 570 seems like a good card for 1080p 60fps gaming

If you dont have other bills, maybe $800 is simple to come by. Its not that $800 is for rich people. But thats a big purchase to most people. Most people dont have $800 of play money a month. I dont understand you who thinks that people who pay bills and stuff will always just have $800 to do whatever with. Its easy to come by $800. But it doesnt matter if you month rent is bills is about twice as much. And that makes ok sense to say if you cant afford $800, just play cheaper games. It just sounds like you either have no responsibilities, or you have much more money than the average person...

"Average" of what demographic? A computer IS a bigger purchase as it's suppose to last a long time. If you use it for 3 years it's less than $1 per day.

Yeah. But people usually aren't saving a dollar a day for a PC. They usually just buy it all at once. In the long run, lots of things are cheaper if you think about how much it cost per day...
I guess I will have to see what kind of graphically demanding games I will be interested in then, right now I'm just looking at playing Halo MCC and Overwatch tbh. Dirt Rally 2 or Project Cars 2 maybe
I don't about you but people I know save money every paycheck for various spendings in the future.
in Canada especially. Going to replace my 6 year old college laptop with a decent gaming PC because it's crashing so much I got banned in Overwatch. heard a combo of the ryzen 2600 and RX 580 was pretty much the minimum for modern games. looked into what a build would cost and it's like $800. I'm broke and I can't cope.
what world are you guys living in where a part-time minimum wage job pays all the bills and driving across the border is cheaper
literally nobody is going to do that dude
How do you get banned from Overwatch for a crashing computer?
