Tailgating is the worst. At least with the others, you can just drive defensively and keep away from them. But if someone is riding your ass, you can't do anything. You feel like you've lost the ability to use your brakes. All those other things can at least be attributed to laziness or stupidity, but tailgating is an act of pure malice. The person who does it gains absolutely nothing while putting everyone else at risk.Tailgaters are easy to deal with. Simply slow down. I don't mean brake check them and potentially cause an accident. Just gently ease off the throttle and let your vehicle slow by a few mph. If they don't take the hint, continue to slowly and safely reduce your speed. They will back off or go around.
