So having a problem with my phone I've never had before

For like a week now I'm getting text messages every day and night from random hotmail email addresses on my phone of links I'll never click. Those messages are being sent to dozens of phone numbers in numerical order (it appears I don't think it's a case of my phone number being given out or anything), and idiots keep responding with stuff like "fuck off" which of course responds to all the other "victims" of the spam. So I'm getting random unsolicited spam and then constant nonsense with people responding to what is clearly bot emails.

If I call at&t will they make it so I can't get text messages from email addresses? It's really annoying that my email has a spam filter but apparently my phone can get emails and not filter it.
