Is the Y/R clearer than the RF on the NES, or is it the same? Need to figure out how to set-up my consoles. I can put the GC beside my NES if I need to.

The whole thing:

Amazing collection. But where are the girls?

Composite cable is almost always better than coaxial/RF if you have the option.

Yeah, it's better. But if you're not gonna play on a CRT TV, you might as well emulate it.

It does look different than I remember, for the worse. I did set it to 4:3... Guess I need to find a R/Y set.

Thought so. The Master System doesnt have a different option I dont think, but the Genesis has some weird circular thing with a bunch of holes in it on the back. I dont have that cable.

Its got enough room for the amount of ports on the bottom. The back is wide open and my A/C blows straight across the back of all these electronics.

are you using an upscaler for your retro consoles? if so, you should be seeking an RGB out solution for the NES to use on your flat screen.

I recommend getting an OSSC or a Retrotink 5x

Yeah probably not. Master System and NES are both running through RF. And not sure what the Genesis uses, but I think its RF also. I think theres another video port on the back, but its got a weird end.

Bob at retroRGB does a great job with his explaination

I will add things in the retro world can get expensive. But playing your retro consoles on modern flat screen TVs with scanline effects can be a great experience. :)

@Dmess85
Thanks! Is there a way to play it without the scanlines? Just cleaned-up pixels? Or is that not going to look as nice?

yes, the upscalers (OSSC in my experience) has the option to display the games in without scanlines and use integer scaling.

I'm considering getting a retro USB to play with which is basically an FPGA

unless you are playing duck hunt, you don't need a crtv.

unless you want a heavy tv with a bad/smaller picture
