I've seen 1 and 2 for $40 or $45 regularly during sale periods. Hell, I got XC2 for $25 or $30 I think.
XC3 was on sale this holiday season despite being out just a few months, I forgot for how much since I got it at launch.

They're definitely worth full price. Got 1 (twice), X, and 3 all at full price. Don't regret it.
XC2 I got later b/c I had a perfectly good Wii U and didn't need to upgrade right away, so by the time I could get it, it was on sale.
