Never got huge into danmachi's anime, but I played the mobile game for a time when there was some canon content written by the author going on. Probably the best written gacha game event I've seen (it was about the original Argonaut who was Bell's ancestor/pre-reincarnation). It's a pretty good setting.

And now that mobile game is preparing to close up shop, and a new, more Genshin -y game has been released.

I enjoy Danmachi , but the fandom pretty much sucks, especially on Reddit.

Sea of Stars is a great game.

Go play it.

I probably will play it after I finish up starfield.

Also I'm glad helck is 24 episodes because this show has become one of my favorites this season. After the first handful of episodes (which were still entertaining) it's a solid fantasy adventure. It and one room hero are the two standouts for new anime this season IMO. I guess my happy marriage is too but it's not really my type of show.

Looking like I missed an anime back in January. Found out that another Seiyu did a cover for Chiisana Koi no Uta earlier this year and now I have no choice but to watch The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten. Same Seiyu is also Akane from Oshi no Ko... and one of the protagonists of Kuro no Kiseki...

I'm kinda surprised you didn't already watch that. Was probably the most talked about romance of that season. I thought it was fine but not amazing.

End of an era.

Dungeon Meshi manga has just ended.

One of the more well-written manga I've read over the years. The worldbuilding is top-class, and the characters are all memorable.

Highly recommend if you're looking for a well-written classic D&D style high fantasy story.

Almost to the end of the Trinity Seven manga, at least as soon as Volumes 27 and 28 arrive from Amazon. (The anime, if you include the OAV and both movies, covers up to Volume 11.) Been a fun ride, but I am ready for it to be done.

Y'all we really need to buy this game and make it a success to show publishers how remakes are supposed to be done.

Probably cause star ocean 5 and 6 were trash.

Tri-ace is such a weird company. They were responsible for the only good Final Fantasy game since XII (XIII-2) but also gave us LR.

Yeah, I really liked star ocean 3, 4 and infinite undiscovery but they have not been doing well with new titles since then. Sad too because I feel like tales has fallen off in quality as well around the same time. The future looked bright around the vesperia/graces f, star ocean 4, infinite undiscovery time but neither team has really managed to reach those heights again IMO.

Yea a lot of that was apparently because if the Phil Fish "Japanese can't make good games" video. I really tuned out to video games at the time and even now I'm just barely holding on. Even Trails burned its bridge for me after I saw Kuro/Daybreak's combat changes (which are probably still good, they're just not for me).

The only series I'd recommend now is Atelier and the only reason I haven't played more games is because I'm just not buying video games for the forseeable future.

Dunno if I've posted this before but fuck it, this is too cool not to reshare.

Especially now that we have the Star Ocean Second remake, we might actually have a chance to see this become reality.

Also there is one more chapter left of Shimeji Simiulation to come out in November. If you haven't read either Shimeji Simulation or Girl's Last Tour they are both crazy good surreal comedies. Hopefully Shimeji gets an anime adaptation so more people can find the joy I did in its extremely deep characterization of human nature.

At the rate DECO*27's new Pokemon themed song is getting views (200k in 2 hours) I have a feeling it's going to eclipse Vampire, which sucks because it's not even a good song. If it somehow gets into his top 5 that's going to be ridiculous as all of DECO's top 5 songs are just absurdly good (MKDR is probably my favorite).

New anime season has begun and for some pleasant reason frieren dropped 4 episodes at once and supposedly it's going to air for half a year. I like it but I'm surprised it's so popular. It's very slow paced. Kind of like a much more relaxed kino's journey in a much more coherent fantasy world. Actually I just described mushishi. This show is classic fantasy mushishi with hot anime girls. I like that the super powerful demon got power crept by the magic meta.

I've always really enjoyed the concept of immortals or at the very least extremely long lived people and it's always fun to see different authors take on it as long as they don't describe it as torture because you see loved ones die. You see loved ones die in your normal ass life already but people aren't as keen to quit that.

Finished up KanoKari Season 3 today and it's as expected the anime of the season for me. Not really any other options and the coming season looks equally as dead. Season 4 is going to be a very toxic Mami-focused season from what I hear, but things are apparently getting better in the current Manga arc. There may not even be an anime of the season for me in this coming season as I'm not super excited for anything except for Hoshikuzu Telepath which sounds like it will be an ok Yuri comedy.

Finished up the latest Mushoku Tensei season. Was the hardest one to watch, but still good and I'm glad they keep making more, even though I have to wait months between seasons. Kind of annoyed that they added an opening to this season, especially since it was apparently abridged as far as the arc goes, so it'd have been nice if a bit more of it was animated.

So, for the next season of Mushoku Tensei, I'm expecting to find out what happened to Zenith. Since she hasn't been shown at all, I'm expecting something bad to have happened to her. My best guess is that she's been enslaved and not been having a pleasant time of it. I've got some other ideas as to what's happened to her, but that one seems the most plausible, since Rudy has gotten way too lucky with the outcomes for his family and Sylphy. Other theories I have are, trapped/stuck in the dungeon/labyrinth, or some kind of amnesia situation. It'd also be nice to see what Eris and Ghislaine are up to. I wouldn't be overly surprised if Rudy managed to knock up Eris with their one encounter. I'll just have to wait until next year to find out what happens next, but I am pretty excited.

Agreed, thats my one real complaint, The song isn't even bad, but it's nowhere as good as season 1s OP+area montage. Loved the season and can't wait to see whats gonna happen next. Fortunately they said "part 2" coming later which means probably a shorter wait than between full seasons. Maybe only a 1 or 2 season gap.

EDIT: MAL says part 2 starts in spring, so a 2 season gap. Not too bad but I wish I could watch the entire rest of the series right now. It's just too good.

Just watched episode one of shangri-la frontier and it was a lot better than I expected. I actually had heard good things about it but episode 1 really drew me in. Premise isn't crazy, guy plays VRMMO, but I guess I just like that concept. I also like that the main guy actually feels like he's played an actual video game at some point in his life and is able to judge a move has too much startup and end lag with no super armor to be worth it. Although man, every rpg related game treats luck like a god stat when every game I've ever played it's almost always the absolute worst stat in the game where the only niche is using luck boosting equipment to up your drop rate when grinding easy enemies.

Also watched the first double length episode of ragna crimson. It feels extremely generic despite not actually being something I've seen before. They fight "dragons" who take on a human form and are weak to sunlight and silver. Thats a fuckin vampire bro. Guy goes from zero to godlike entity in like 20 minutes and I see nowhere for the power scaling to go after this, however, it's not a comedy series so I struggle to see how the show will be remotely entertaining going forward. Will probably give it an episode just to see how they approach the rest of the story.

A girl and her guard dog is trash. Not only is the premise creepy, the execution is creepier. Nothing like having your 26 year old adoptive father suddenly spoon you (main girl is 15). Even putting that aside, it's just not entertaining.

Watched two more.

Berserk of gluttony is barely watchable trash. It's essentially seasonal isekai garbage except it's not isekai. We see his character status window like 10 seconds after being introduced to the protagonist so it's one of those kinds of shows. His cheat ability is skill and stat stealing from things he kills. The bad guys are cartoon villains and the good girl is a pure paragon of justice. You've seen it before 50 times. There is a bit more blood in this than the standard isekai but thats about it.

Witch family circumstances on the other hand was pleasantly surprising because it was actually pretty funny. Seems like a bit of yuri bait but so far it's actually just comedy. Main girl is 16 and looks like a 30 year old milf and the ancient witch that is her adoptive mother looks like she's 16. Part of the comedy is just seeing the "child" act childish despite those mature looks. She is quite a brat.

Got quite a few new ones starting tommorow.including the twist I've been waiting for in villainess anime where the reincarnated office girl just wants to seduce the villainess in some glorious yuri. Really hoping that one's good. Still wish we'd get a proper ecchi yuri harem but alas, not yet.

still unsure what I want to keep up on weekly at this point- I vividly remember the main early story beats of most things I'm interested in because I've read the source material, and I've come to realize I like keeping up with 1-2 things weekly while occasionally catching up on the rest

maybe apothecary diaries? it's been a few years since I read the manga and it's pretty fuzzy at this point. last season I weekly'd vending machine and caught back up on cleric and the dumb barrier isekai every 3-4 weeks and it was a nice lazy pace

s rank adventurer is on j-novel LN catchup this month so lmao I'm gonna binge that shit. apothecary diaries is too but it's gonna be a couple weeks before I get around to it. tearmoon's manga is also there but it probably covers less content than season 1 (LN's way further along)

Lol, in love with the villainess is "don't bully me, I'll cum" the yuri anime. It's pretty great so far.

The excalibur anime is yet another demon lord reincarnates in the same world 1000 years later. It's first episode was fine I guess. Been playing a lot of deep rock galactic lately and this anime kind of sounds like an anime girl version of it. Just needs a mission control with "swarm incoming". Rock and Stone.

Also watched Shy which was pretty interesting. It's a super hero anime but theres only a handful of heroes total and it seems like each major country just gets one. The japanese hero is a 14 year old girl and pretty new to things and very shy and has guilt about people she couldn't save. It has the possibility of going in a very dark direction and the show is almost more magical girl than super hero. Need more episodes to really feel out where it's going.

Finally watched vrmmo life which had a pleasant first half and a generic second half. In the first half it's just a salaryman with only a couple of hours a day trying to chill and play an MMO solo at his own pace. In the second half the intentionally bad skills he took turn out to be super valuable and now everyone needs him. It was more entertaining IMO when he was just leveling crafting and cooking and archery and stuff. For now it's watchable but I'm not expecting much from it. Shangri-la seems like the better VRMMO anime this season by a wide margin.

Finally got time to watch Suzume. It was worth the almost 2 year wait. I really enjoyed the "twist" and the circular nature of Shinkai's films and whoever told me it wasn't as good as his other films is a ****ing liar. Maybe they just weren't into it while they watched but I would say that it was as good as, if not better than Weathering With You, but not as good as 12 Centimeters Per Second or Your Name. Overall it was a 2 hours well spent.

I came to the conclusion, long ago, that the only way to get that kind of harem was to write myself. I do have a few ideas for that, but, y'know, only so many hours in the day.

I might give that new villainess show a try, though.

Watched Megani no Cafe Terrace and it was better than I was expecting. It has an ecchi tag, so sometimes those shows rely too much on the ecchi stuff and end up being mediocre or bad, but this was pretty nice and it's getting a second season. If there's an uncensored version, I'll rewatch that when the next season comes out as a refresher.

Up next is vending machine isekai. I'm not expecting much, just hoping it's at least somewhat enjoyable.

Yuri harem sort of exists (maria holic being the first that comes to mind), but ecchi yuri harem doesnt (well technically there was that shitty short series triangle something). Even among VNs and stuff it seems like most ecchi yuri stuff is paired instead of harem.

I raced through vending machine isekai. It's getting a second season, I'm pretty pumped up about that. It's an odd concept, but I found it enjoyable. There seems to be a lot of room for creativity as well, so it'll be nice to see how it develops in the future.

The weird part about this one is that they've already adapted all of the light novel's contents (the LN went on hiatus years ago), and the recently restarted manga adaptation is nowhere close to the end of the anime. They're gonna have to pull content from the webnovel, which is sorta weird.

This is getting out of hand. 16bit sensation also is interesting. We have a girl complaining that Rance is selling for only 100 yen in the first episode. Girl travels back in time to the golden era of pornagraphic VNs to make the best eroge she can.

Well they actually dance around the term a bit calling them bishoujo games and the main character claims to just like games with cute girls in it but we are including games like Rance and her current company was about to make "MILF hypnosis" and nearly every game she had came with the R18 circle on the spine.

Im gonna be watching too damn much this season. Also every bit I see of the japanese work place in anime just makes me annoyed. Quit you dumb bastards. Main girl said she wasn't "assertive" enough to ever quit. Just quit. It's not the hard.
