People always confuse networth as being a vault of money that they dive into like Scrooge McDuck.
They're not entirely equivalent, but comparisons like that are close enough. Yes, most billionaires could not actually liquidate their entire net worth without losing quite a bit of value, but that doesn't change the bottom line of "even those big numbers are a tiny fraction of their disposable funds."
