my SO and I have vacation days from Nov. 18-26. Were spending 23-26 with her family for Christmas, which gives us the 18-22 (plus the afternoon of the 17th) for a small out of state trip.

Which of the above places should we go?
Note: the state we go to we will probably not revisit for at least another 5 years. So if theres a really great festival or state park that only goes on in the spring or whatever, we want to avoid going now.

Personally, Im leaning towards Arizona (Grand Canyon) or Colorado (Denver).

SO is leaning towards Arkansas (relaxing woody/mountainy vacation, maybe hot springs?) or Utah (Salt Lake City).

were both into state/national parks that arent too hard to get through with bad knees, art museums, wineries, music, local curiosities, zoos/aquariums, local history museums, cute universities, places with a lot of local color, fun city or nature tours

not as into amusement parks, fancy or extravagant food, gambling, roughing it, getting totally shitfaced.

Were wanting to save Oregon (and NY, ME, MA, MN, FL) for vacations a little bit longer.

Hopefully doing Baja Californiafor spring break. Weve been to Mexico a couple of times already, individually and together. We live near by so its not a big trip.
