Ive tried to read a few but Im not sure how I feel about them being the future of comic books

I don't know anything about them and I'm probably too old to get into them and too invested into seasonal anime.
It's not about me.

They're primarily korean yea? I know Solo Leveling had some amazing art.
The korean ones like Tower of God are surprisingly well adapted for phones.

I don't follow them. I saw a little of VG Cats about 20 years ago but nothing since.

most of them that i've seen images of look terrible, but i also have no desire to give any a real chance so i figure they're just not for me.

I absolutely hate the format, in spite of the fact that 25 years worth of reading webcomics should have gotten me used to alternative layouts.

Really? When I first started reading them on my phone I was surprised by how effective they are at utilizing a phone format. Designed to be read while walking around on your phone scrolling slowly. I thought that was pretty innovative. You didn't have to be in landscape mode to utilize it or turn pages or require zooming like some manga pages require.

The crucial part you're skimming over there is "on your phone".

Weak Hero was real good also and recently ended.

The Boxer was amazing.

I like it, but I doubt it's the future of comics and I would be sad if it was. Hell, I don't even think it is the future of webcomics.
I am awesome and so are you.

Some believe this is a format comic publishers need to take notes from

I read plenty of webtoons/manhwa/manhua. Currently reading The Goddess of Healing. The Ghostly Doctor, Beware the Villainess, Who Made Me a Princess, and Roxana are probably my favorites that I can remember, but I pick up a new one every other day and binge most of the way through it

The format is fine most of the time but it's really hard to keep track of action scenes that span multiple swipes.

The Webtoon app is great that it doesn't do swipe to the next page viewing. It's all top down scrolling.

I know. I still don't like an entire action scene not being visible at once, and sometimes there'll be the equivalent of ten pages of action just flowing from top to bottom. It's just visually a mess to me
