Are we going to see PS12? or will they change it into names like Play Station Alpha? or maybe change the whole Playstation name..?

I'll be surprised if console generations are still a thing by the time PS12 would be rolling around, given how harsh the diminishing returns are getting on new generations, but I expect Sony will keep the same naming scheme for as long as they are (possibly changing it up for whatever the final one ends up being).

It wouldn't be PS1 2 etc... Because if you look at Nintendo the Wii wasn't Wii 2 it was Wii U

I currently do not know what the newest gen of XBox is and I have no idea what I would buy if I wanted one. Yeah I'd say it's a pretty good idea.

I'll be surprised if console generations are still a thing by the time PS12 would be rolling around, considering how likely it is that we'll be spending most of our time fighting over oil and water while the sky burns by then.

Though there's no way in hell I'm surviving long enough to see a PS10 regardless, even if I don't get murdered and eaten by my neighbors.

Sony's last console will be the pocket station 2. Nintendo will be so confused about releasing their console with 2 gen behind tech they'll just box up a pet rock. Microsoft will have something comparable but with a spinner hub cap mounted on it. Our devolved monkey descendants in this far dystopia of 2034 will defecate with glee.

Most likely. If they were going to change it, it would have been a while ago. Microsoft and Nintendo never did that, so theyll still do whatever. But Sony did it for all 5 PlayStations. Why stop now? That would just be weird

Tbf, once they get to a certain number (not sure if 8, though), they wont really need to make any new consoles Or not as many. Especially with digital only, cloud streaming, console crossovers, and game pass type things They just siphon our money that way instead

so using them as an example is pointless

especially when it's in regards to sony, and how they number their consoles.

nintendo has never numbered their consoles.

If they do continue the numbering, I'm curious if 8 will be the last numbered one because of a commercial for the... 2? 3? One of those, where it was a fake ad for the PS9. Of course, this all assumes Sony will still be around and capable of producing games. I have a feeling the road to even the 7th PS will be a rough one.

To be fair, they only did that once (maybe technically 2 or 3 times if you count 3DS, 3DS Xl, and 2DS as separate instances, though I wouldn't). But yes, Nintendo's naming practices don't dictate anything about Sony's.
