It's an easy thing to say, especially if you've fallen into the trap of listening to societal expectations that say certain hobbies or pastimes are "frivolous" or not worthwhile. But unless you've got a specific alternative in mind, you probably wouldn't have been able to spend it on anything more meaningful or significant than the positive experiences you got out of what you
did
buy.
People act like everyone is wasting time and money if you're not spending all your time curing cancer or building some sort of legacy, but just making yourself happy can be far more meaningful than anything else. And better for your overall mental health (and physical health as well, by proxy) in the long term.
Unless you're saying you never enjoyed any game you've ever bought. But that's an entirely different scenario.
