Sure, but I still wouldn't necessarily characterize it as "updates" when it's exclusively reactive. I'm not "updating" my leg by tying a splint to it after breaking it.

Vaccines would definitely qualify as an "update," but it's one that's applied externally instead of being something the body does itself. Regular immune system function is, again, strictly reactive, in that it only addresses things that a given individual has already experienced.
