This combined with frustration gaming is a large part of why I've never liked the various Soulsborn games. Everything is bleak and miserable, and there's no real happy endings.
George RR Martin basically ruined fantasy. Everything has to be bleak and grim now because "dark" gets confused with "deep".
these games arent quite as dark and edgy as they might seem. the humor and lightheartedness is just extremely subtle and requires an understanding of the lore which isnt easy to figure out.
but yeah, they are mostly depressing. I guess i kind of like that sort of thing
