They're gonna reboot and call it the Playstation, to tell the difference between it and the original you'll have to call them Playstation (1994) and Playstation (2026)
Funny thing is if they actually did that everybody would just call it Playstation 6 like everybody still calls it Twitter. When movies reboots do that they refer to them by the year, at least the rebooted ones. I'm not sure if you'll find many people that call the original Halloween "Halloween (1978)" but the 2018 reboot/sequel is "Halloween (2018)" and not Halloween 10

Console gaming is pretty much dead.
The PS5 has sold about 75 million units in about 5 years (in spite of the awkward launch and limited supplies for so long), and the Switch was the fasting selling console in history and has sold more than 150 million units.
That... doesn't really feel like console gaming is dying, regardless of what terminally online gamers might think.
That was last gen, mate. They all started out with banger sales. But Sony and Microsoft are struggling to stay afloat losing all their exclusives and Nintendo is shitting the bed with their upcoming launch. And I really feel like the precedents that Switch 2 is setting are going to be the final nails in the coffin.
Also, people just don't have the money anymore to buy a brand new Netflix Machine.
