Nu-metal is barely a genre since those bands often times had little in common.This. The Nu metal label was just slapped on any vaguely hard rock ish band doing anything that didn't neatly fit into a pre-existing genre. There is no identifiable musical or lyrical component common to all the nu metal bands.
