This is going to sound harsh TC, but there really are only a few likely explanations for this.
The most likely is that she has someone else in mind and she is hoping they're going to choose her. She doesn't want to lock you down when she has one or more other options she's not done entertaining.
Another possibility is that you've perceived this relationship as being more than it really is. It even sounds like she lives in a different city than you. You refer to her as your girlfriend, but did you ever have that exclusivity talk? It's possible she saw you just as a fling and is upset that you've caught heavier feelings than she expected you to.
People (men and women) that actually like you will make it very easy for you to spend time with them and become closer. I think this is completely over, sorry man.
