I think I have vague memories of maybe having played a Tony Hawk game? But I'm not even sure it was a Tony Hawk game, let alone a specific Tony Hawk game. And I definitely haven't played multiple Tony Hawk games to the point where I could compare them.

4 was so perfect. I always dreamt of a cheat or patch to allow walking.
American Wasteland was really good, combining the best of thug 1 and 2.
2 is iconic and has some good levels, but it's so repetitive and 3 fixed that.

2 and 3 were about equal to me, but I'll give the edge to 3. Underground would be a close 3rd.
I feel like I need to put something here, or else I am one of those weird people who think that having no signature is a character trait.

I played THUG the most. Idk if I consider it good or the best or if that's just because the design of the game lent itself more to replaying than the arcade style of the previous entries. Although I did really enjoy winning the random story competitions in a single trick with 100x the required score.

THPS2 is the best "classic" Tony Hawk style game, but THUG is goated. I actually picked up a copy again recently for Gamecube and was surprised how inexpensive it was. Shop owner mentioned there are rumors of an upcoming remake, so that's a possible cause for the low price.

I was most impressed at the time by Tony Hawk 2, but the games got better every release for so long even though they were yearly releases

I played a lot of 1 and 3 at the time, but still a little bit of 2 which is usually the crowd favourite. 3 is the one I got most into. I still enjoy shredding through one of them at least every few years.
