This is my bedroom / office:

This is still a work in progress.
Also think about how few people actually post about themselves and their living situations. Take some ownership of your life and if you want to judge others at least be willing to prove your shit doesn't smell.

I always thought slanted ceilings were really cool. I used to always want a bedroom like that when I was a kid.

I care.
People talking shit about me pisses me off to no end because I am trying to work my ass off to not be that kind of person, especially with the real shitholes I see that some of these people online live in.

Had one as a kid, then didn't in my early adult years, and now I have one again. Gives the room charm. I was thinking for a while to get a ceiling projector but right now for watching television in bed I'm just using a used monitor right now (which isn't set up, as I just thought it up last night).

Why would you care what people online think of you?

That's quite a nice room.

I'm an extremely vain person.

Is that the entrance to the room on the left side. The only thing I'd have a problem with is the computer desk facing away from it. I really don't like having my back to a doorway.

That is a window (yes the window has a door - it also had a window). I am standing on the stairs up to the room.
I have multiple cameras that I can view on my computer at any time (and monitor alarms) that would trigger if anyone were to invade my home.

I don't understand making like $200k a year and you choose to live in a place that we've learned has no washer or dryer, no dishwasher, and now as we see, looks like one of those pseudo-attic loft rooms. Even if you're not living among literal shit anymore it seems like you're still afraid to have a nice space for yourself

Some people prefer to save their money rather then spend flaunt it.

Anyways, this is my current office setup:

Really want to replace the carpet, but that is way down on the list of home improvement stuff.
I feel like I need to put something here, or else I am one of those weird people who think that having no signature is a character trait.

There's "not flaunting money," and then there's "never spending anything that isn't absolutely necessary." The former is reasonable. The latter is pushing into neurosis territory. There's plenty of healthy middle ground, mostly amounting to spending reasonable amounts of money that can be spared without issue for significant quality of life improvements over living in austere minimalism.

People's shit can stink but still be fully justified in pointing out that your shit stinks worse. Or stinks in a different way. Or is smeared all over the walls.

I bought a countertop dishwasher a few weeks ago. Also apart from 1-2 nits in the kitchen and bathroom I really enjoy this. This is just the second floor. Also I've already put in a significant amount of money over the past month (probably around $10k) into making this place livable. You are probably still misconflating how I was being forced to live for the past 15 years and how I want to live now. Regardless, the plan is that I am stating here for at least 1 year as I have a few more goals I haven't accomplished yet. I want a place like this of similar dimensions (it's around 800sqft) but I don't want an apartment.

THE opinionated king.
What did you put that $10k into? Are they personal possessions you can take with you? Because otherwise, investing $10k into a home you don't own is a worse use of your money than had you just spent more to rent something a little nicer. Even as far as personal possessions go, I know obviously the dishwasher is a small part of that investment, but there's a good chance you're going to find that isn't much use to take with you since most places have a built-in dishwasher.

That's fine if you have big plans for that money, but Judg seems to be someone who doesn't like to do anything besides work, yet saves up as if he wants to retire from work ASAP. Make it make sense

Plus as adjl suggested yeah I don't think that like having in-unit laundry is some grand luxury, even if you technically can get away with it if you want to pinch every last penny
wouldn't it be cool if there were white winter iguanas?

So just one person and probably not even recently. Just looks more like you were too cowardly to just make this topic to show off and instead needed a poorly made up excuse to pretend to defend yourself.

Have you considered buying a bit of land and building a tiny house? The resale value would suck, since those things tend to be bespoke designs that nobody else cares about, but it would get you the small space you're looking for without necessarily making the compromises you'll typically see in small condos/apartments (namely, making the kitchen tiny for the sake of maximizing the space in other rooms). Depending on local zoning, you could even buy a full-size house, build a tiny house in the back yard, and rent out the main house for extra income.

Yes there is actually land for sale in the area. The issue is actually paying the money to get the work done. That is why I said I'm using this year to think through some stuff.
