I get the space alien angle, that could happen, but you think the bit about the nuclear dust being reborn as human souls or whatever isn't kinda goofy like stuff in other religions?
Some people disagree with this categorization, but I think religions that the founders don't believe in have less validity than others.
That's why even though the Flying Spaghetti Monster is funny and it's original purpose (teaching creative design in school is dumb) is valid, people who talk about being followers of the religion and act like it should socially be treated as being equal are wrong.
