i watched prince of tennis and loved it. would like to check out some others. can't really think of any others i've heard of but know there is a couple i can't remember the names of.

Most series have a way better manga. Eyeshield 21 and One Outs ended way before the manga. Major is alright until the shitty last arc. Ace of Diamond is pretty good

Princess Nine is one of my all-time favorites. It's an older show (early 2000's) so it looks dated, but it's really good.

prince of tennis and really most anime end before the manga does. hunter x hunter, bleach and i'm sure some others end early. some i keep up with after and read the manga where the anime ends to see how it turns out.
this topic got a lot more hits than i thought. for starters i'll check out ping pong and hajime no ippo since they got the most recommendations. might just make a list of the others so i can check them out after.
