But they are not banning certain types of clothes, just banning covering your face in public.


That's a certain type of clothing with an established history, though. It wasn't invented or popularized with the intent of obfuscating security measures.

And I'm opposed to laws requiring women to wear them, and if there's a circumstance where a husband or a father is forcing their wife or children to wear them against their will they should be prosecuted for abuse. But if a woman voluntarily wants to wear a burka, I don't think that should remotely be illegal.
