Had a conversation with my brothers earlier about this and saw the topic on here about the 29 year old dating an 18 year old. Im just curious everyone age difference in their relationship.

Im 2 years older than my wife.
One brother is one year younger than his fianc.
Other brother is 6 years older than his girlfriend.

I was actually kind of shocked to find out my one brother was 6 years older than his girlfriend. Hes 26 and shes 20. I always for some reason thought she was closer to his age.
I dont have any problems with it. Just found it interesting.

It's always a little weird when you've got someone who's been able to drink legally long enough for it to be no big deal dating someone who still (potentially) thinks its this edgy, law-breaking thing to do. Like... even the fact that he could rent a car and she couldn't is strange (or at least rent at the standard rate. I forget what the minimum age is for most places but I know 25 is when all restrictions are off).

They're just in totally different phases of their life. Different priorities, expectations, needs, etc. I don't know them, but I wouldn't be surprised if ultimately either he got sick of supporting her, or she got sick of living her early 20s like she was an adult.

Are there any 5-10 year gaps where the woman is older than the guy? I find it strange that it's always guys going for younger women/women going for older guys and rarely the other way round.

He's 2 years older. Although that happened by luck. He won me over so fast I didn't really bother to ask his age until later.

My general rule is to avoid dating anyone more than 5 years younger than me and he just happened to fit.
