They must not have gone to school in CA, earthquake drills are as common as fire drills and you get your head under that desk ASAP.

He's probably going to the Clippers if he goes anywhere. Anyway he's from Riverside which is even closer to the epicenter than Los Angeles.

So what are the chances of another one?
7.0, 6.9, 7.1 sure wish these people would make up their minds.

Considering the quake didn't cause massive damage, injuries and deaths, I'd say there is no reason that they can't find a little wonder in it.

Plus it's been 20 years or so since the last major quake. I think that's why you saw so many emotional responses on the local news. People didn't know what to expect. IIRC from '87-92 we had a major quake almost every year, capped off by a 7.3 in the same area as the recent quakes and then Northridge 1994.

I slept through the '94 one as well. I was 2 at the time and apparently not even the Earth shaking can wake me.

How catastrophic would "the big one" actually be?
Now that most people and buildings are prepared for it, it probably wouldn't even be that bad. A 6.9 (nice) is nothing to sneeze at and it doesn't seem like much harm was done.
