To me, that doesn't matter. Regardless of "side" (which needs to go away), his actions were wrong, and will not serve any purpose except to add fuel to the fire (not meant to be a pun).
I'm considered liberal. I'm not going to go start fires or wear a mask or protest or howl into the wind.
I'm going to (and have for two decades) give money to charity, volunteer in my community, feed the hungry, clothe the needy, comfort the sick, and try to be kind to others whenever possible.
No anger, no hatred, no hostility, no judgement. Love understanding, and healing is what we need, and that's what I'll give, until my last breath.
These words will probably change nothing. The world will continue on, just as it is. My actions will help only a few, but it must be done. I will die in obscurity, but I will do so knowing that I did the right thing, even if I stood alone.
You're standing idly by, not actually helping to steer against the torrent of fascism. And because of your inaction, evil thrives. You haven't done the right thing at all.
Edit: I'm not saying you need to burn down ICE, but that your "love, not hate" without action amounts to nothing
Did you read? I actually help people, in real and meaningful ways. "Inaction". No. Holding signs to feel good about yourself and take pictures for social media doesn't change anything. That's useless posturing. Go to the soup kitchen and help. Donate time and money. Give to others. Be better than the facists, don't stoop to their level. Lead by example, live by your own words, and others will follow.
