I saw them at the store and had never tried one before so I decided to be very low level adventurous.

It was pretty good! It was fairly indistinguishable from low/mid-level patties that I've purchased from the grocery store before. Obviously in a taste test I could pick it out, but if someone had me over and made some burgers I wouldn't necessarily have picked it out.

Anyone had this or one of the other brands of meat-alternatives?
I eat morning star vegeburgers all the time.

i'm vegetarian 'cause i don't like meat, so things that 'taste like meat' aren't appealing to me.

i had one at a restaurant and it wasn't my thing.

Makes sense, I like how meat tastes but if I can get the same taste and it's allegedly better for the environment, more power to these companies.
when eaten stand alone i can definitely taste a difference, but after putting toppings + bun together i barely noticed any difference at all.

i like Impossible slightly better than Beyond wrt taste / texture

You see it your way, I'll see it mine and I'll be fine
I really like beyond, and the impossible whopper at bk. Ive been Pescetarian for about 13 years so its refreshing sometimes to have options that are actually meat-tasting, though I like veggie burgers that dont just fine too. Gardenburger was the old restaurant fav substitute, and I love those things
You remind me of the times when I knew who I was...
I've tried other ones and they were garbage. Straight up disgusting. But the Beyond Burger was shockingly good. Especially since every prior experience with a hyped veggie patty has been negative. It makes me really excited that I might be able to fully stop eating meat without compromising taste much within my lifetime.
I gotta be righteous, I gotta be me, I gotta be conscious, I gotta be free, I gotta be able, I gotta attack, I gotta be stable, I gotta be black.
I've tried them before. I think they're absolutely disgusting. Even for free they were not worth finishing, because the texture and flavor was awful. Even worse was the smell, which is worse than your average cat food.

It's weird, because I think the Beyond Sausage is actually pretty good. Impossible was certainly better, though I'm not huge on that either. Various black bean burgers tend to be the best, but they don't really taste like burgers anyway

I've had both Beyond and Impossible and both are fine. I've been a vegetarian since I was 5 since meat grossed me out. So like Dolomedes, I'm not really looking for fake meat that taste like real meat. And honestly both Beyond and Impossible are close enough to kinda weird me out. Like if a cook mixed up my order, I genuinely don't know if I'd be able to tell.

That said, I love that more and more mainstream restaurants have vegetarian entrees available.

I like Impossible more
modern meal alternatives are great, the only problem is the cost associated.
