Control probably has my favorite that I've experienced. The chain of "oh fuck, the Hiss got me" -> "oh fuck, that's the end?" -> "oh fuck, the credits are going crazy" -> "wat office work" was just phenomenal IMO.

Any other games that have good fakeout endings like that?

IIRC it's either AA2 or AA3 but it seems like you failed the evidence present and the judge declares guilty and it's the normal bad end sequence, fading to black. Then, "OBJECTION"

I originally posted that I don't think the AA examples count as a fake out ending because it's not actually an ending, it's more like it tricks you into thinking you failed to trip up savescumming but I guess fakeout endings kind of do that too.

that was in the first game vs Karma. Butz jumps to the stand to save your ass.

this actually got me because instead of waiting for the twist I kept restarting and trying to figure out where in the trial I messed up lol
