I've been getting trained for two separate positions over the last couple of weeks to work as a backup. One of the girls is changing shifts so I'll be taking over her duties on a daily basis. Unfortunately I was told that I won't be getting paid to do that job because I haven't been there for 90 days and that they aren't even hiring for the position. I won't be getting paid for the other position I'm training for either because of this rule.

I'd hate to have to leave another job because of this but this is some bullshit.

Definitely leave that job. They're clearly trying to shove more work onto you without raising your pay. Fuck that unethical shit
Wait so theyre just not paying you? Or giving you more responsibility with no more compensation?

These are positions that pay slightly more. One job just got posted and I will be applying for despite being "ineligible". The other is the job I'll be the only one on my shift qualified to perform. They deliberately haven't filled the position, but it would slightly increase my pay.

Oh.. well you should get paid more it sounds like. You should tell them to go fuck themselves, after you have a new job lined up.

or just say you dont want to do this other stuff if youre not going to be paid more.
How useful is the training that you are getting? Are you getting experience?

I wouldn't say that... he needs a good reference down the line.

but if I was in your position, I would look for another job while still applying here. can you find something better?

definitely talk to your manager about getting over worked. Don't say you are looking for a new job but when you do find new job, you can leverage it
Less is more. Everything you want, isn't everything you need.

I work in a warehouse. The training could be useful if others around here operate in a similar manner. I'm supposed to have more training for forklift as well, but the situation would be the same if a position opened.

I'm sure I could. I wasn't having much luck before unfortunately. This is job number 4 since November and I wanted to avoid searching again. I'm not going to sit for another two months and work a job without the correct pay. I'm considering a meeting with HR.
