I'll be perfectly honest - even with everything else that happened in 2020, hearing that Venture Bros had been cancelled was personally one of my lowest points. For the vast majority of my adult life there have been three constants: death, taxes, and a new VB season every 2-3 years.

Even if god forbid the movie doesn't happen, at least the show finally answered the question of what really happened to Jonas Venture Sr. I was kinda iffy on the S7 opener right up until they cracked open the PROBLEM, then they hooked me right back in .

The greatest cartoon ever made. Cant believe they cancelled it after that season finale. Cant fucking wait for the movie. Really hope it lives up to my hype.

Their ballooned production timeline sank the show, tbqh. By the time a new season premiered every other year or so, you basically needed a recap to remember where everyone was development-wise.
Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

That's fine, but Adult Swim literally released recap videos for Venture Bros for this very reason. Venture Bros was a show about character development more than almost any other show AS has been involved, and their delayed production timeline was absolutely a bummer for fans and almost assuredly a major cost overhead for Adult Swim.

I wish they were given a final season as well, but even that probably would've significantly rushed their timetable.
Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

It's a wonderful show but it took too fucking long to produce. I'm a completely different person than I was when I started watching it and I can't remember any of the chronology.

I know but who knows when that's happening. Guess it's par for the course for a VB fan.

This is my first watch through of the show and have really been loving it. The ability to change the dynamics of the characters from season to season throughout the show and it all work has been so impressive. Every time there was a new change that I thought, "Oh I'm not going to like this big change", they've made it work. Whether it was killing 24, Hatred replacing Brock as bodyguard, or burning down the Venture compound and making everyone move to NY.

Honestly I'll probably restart the show from scratch after finishing the last season.

One of the few shows where I had to buy it on dvd/blu ray to forever have it around.

Its my second favorite adult swim show ever. (The boondocks edged it out because of it's first 3 seasons).

Yes. IIRC S1 has the pilot and Christmas special, S5 has the Halloween Special, and S6 has All That and Gargantua-2. I only own the DVDs, but I reasonably assume the blurays are much the same.

It does. I wasn't even aware of the specials or how important some were to the story until I was half way through S5. Had a hard time "finding" the specials to watch them.

That reminds me how the Halloween special was supposed to have taken place in the middle of the S5 opener, and the only way to be explicitly aware of this was if you'd happened to watch the ep on its original air date and seen the AS bumper explaining that.

The S5 opener takes place over a few months (I'm guessing September through December), and the Halloween special was supposed to have occurred between one of the commercial breaks. The only indication of this is that, iirc, in the first scene after the commercial break, Dean is complaining to his new crush about finding out that he and Hank are clones , which was revealed to him during the Halloween special and is pretty much the source of his angst throughout S5.

Normally I'd hate a show / game for hiding major info / reveals in what's arguably supplemental material, but VB gets a pass because it's fuckin' VB (and because I watched the Halloween special when it aired prior to S5; damned if I was missing out on any new VB content).
