Slightly surprised since the bill passed with bi-partisan support in the House and Senate

But not really since McConnell is an ass

His problem with the bill is that it protects inter-racial gay couples as well as straight couples

If it was purely for straight couples, he'd support it.

^ Hey now that's completely unfair!

He'll be like 86 by the time he's up for reelection and there's a solid chance he gets primary challenged by a MAGA

He doesn't believe in states rights though. This is how it works:
Something he likes? That is a federal issue and should be done at the federal level.
Something he doesn't like? That should be a States Right issue OR made illegal at the federal level.

No.

Newsweek has asked Mitch McConnell's office for comment.
The article is sensationalist rage mongering. "Politician votes against free puppies desoit having several dogs" would be analogous.

The most important thing this does is remove DOMA, which should have been recognized as unconstitutional long before Obgerfell.

I'm not following your logic - your analogy isn't quite accurate, since the bill wouldn't give out anything, just protect the acquisition of 'things' (Politician votes against bill making it legal to own dogs across the country despite already owning a dog). How is it sensationalist rage mongering? I'm not seeing the exaggeration..

The most important thing this does is remove DOMA, which should have been recognized as unconstitutional long before Obgerfell.

Are you saying that's all that should be discussed about the bill?

"My guess is McConnell's opposition has to do with same-sex marriage, not interracial marriage," wrote Brendan Kirby, investigative reporter with Fox10 News.

Imagine being so against "the gays" marrying that you'd put your own marriage on the line rather than protect theirs.

If you'd said this 10 years ago we'd nod sensibly. You saying it now shows you're not paying attention.

Unless this was an ironic post that went over my head.
