Was always a fan of the old black and white show growing up, and I've been hearing a lot of positive buzz and reviews/ratings for this new show. So, to fans of the original, what do ya'll think of the new series?

Personally I hate it for full on making the character a murderer. The Addams family were just a weird and out there family. They never killed anyone.
Yu-Gi-Oh taught me a lot about wealth disparity, but also that you don't touch a man's foie gras if you aren't willing to get your game on for it.

Yes, loved it. Thought it'll be a disastor, it being Netflix and all. But really loved the actress and her relationship with half the cast. The whole family was pretty well casted.

This. It just feels like your generic "magical high school where things keep going wrong but the kids care more about relationship drama than their lives".

The only positive I'll say is that the character of Wednesday is acted phenomenally. She was perfectly cast and her writing and characterization was pretty good.

But the rest of the cast and setting felt more like Harry Potter than Addam's Family.

i enjoyed it. definitely not perfect and the harry potter comparison is fitting.

don't really compare it too much to the original show or the 90s movies. it's a reboot and it's own thing and world. they added werewolves and vampires and stuff to the universe now. definitely more of a darker version of the 90s movies

Its very much Riverdale/Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, but its not bad , in and of itself.

You're gonna find it incredibly unfaithful to the original Addams Family in terms of tone and character, however. The creators of this have zero grasp on what made the original good.

Its alright. Not great, not terrible, but if youre only interested because of your love of the original sitcom then youre gonna be sorely disappointed.

Yup the love interests were shit. But her relationships with her other friends were so much better. Especially the end hug with Enid ;_;

Ok, I finally finished it. That finale was legitimately great. So far as CW-style shows go, so far this one's actually pretty good. I would've liked a tad bit more action but I don't think I'm completely the target audience for this so what we got was fine.

Also between this, Fear Street, and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, I feel like someone at Netflix really has a thing for witches and colonial America. Pretty sure the latter figures into Sabrina though at least.

that was interesting and they did have chemistry but he is to much of a none character (for me) but yes in terms of het romance he got hte best chemsitry twice (he also had good chemistry with siren lady)

The non rushed parts was fun horror and didn't feel as much as a CW drama compared to... other CW dramas lol. I want to say S3 is when stuff started getting rushed. Even then S4 has some bright points, such as the cameo episode

Was hoping someone made a thread already. I'm on episode 5 and been watching since Monday. it's really good. Definitely worth watching if you are a fan.

Well I just finished the first season and I did very much enjoy it. Loved Jenna's portrayal of Wednesday here, and it's probably my favorite out of all the Addams Family shows/movies I've seen tbh. Emma as Enid was great too, she had solid chemistry with Wednesday in this.

I'd need more time with Gomez and Morticia, but I from the episodes they were in, I felt Luis Luzman and Catherine Jones did a solid job. Though, not sure how I felt about Fester.

You could also definitely tell Tim Burton had a hand in this, which I think was for the best.

I absolutely hated Fester. Granted it's been a while since I've seen the 90s movies as well and I've never watched the original series. But to me Christopher Loyd's portrayal hit a perfect blend between cartoony and creepy while this Fester veered straight into just being a cartoon character.

It's silly and campy but I enjoyed it as something to casually watch. Every scene with Thing put a smile on my face.

I guess I'm something of a ne'er do well.
