It looks so ugly any other way. I booted up the HD port and gah lee son, how is anyone playing it that way? The character models don't blend into the scene anymore, the entire look is ruined.

Oh yeah I tried the Xbox one version and I couldn't make out what half the environments were meant to be.

PC has a lot of bearable solutions. FF8s original release back in 98 I want to say, was completely upgraded from the PSX version.

Yeah, it's important to remember games made during the era of CRT TVs were made with the CRT's scan-lines in mind, so they actually look worse without them.

100% opinion. i hate scanlines unless it's on a TV. on a monitor i prefer (demand, require) raw pixels.

I never play retro games with a scanline filter on. I'd rather just play them in the original format on an original CRT.
Face it Cloud is a gaming icon and has appered in lots of games while mario has only appeared in 2 games sunshine and 64 ~xSlashbomBx

I'm playing the disc on a backwards compatible PS3 hooked up to a CRT with component cables. Look pretty good.

It wasn't compressed or polygonalized so probably not. It looks weird anyway with the mocap suit dancing.
