So I managed to build a pretty powerful machine that I am enjoying thus far, but it gets incredibly loud as soon as I do something remotely taxing

Like just opening Chrome gets the fans to go off. I've switched my processor fans to quiet and manually adjusted my GPU fans to low but it still happens. Anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Did you apply the thermal paste and install the fan correctly?

Could it just be the FAN??? <: P

Get something that can monitor your CPU temps and watch if they go high really easily.
CPUID's HWMonitor is great for that.

Sounds like you got a temp problem if something so basic can max your fan curve.

I just did s stress test on my GPU and I got a solid 70 degrees. I have the AMD 7700 XT. is that a good temp?

I will play a demanding game and post results. Thanks

In your BIOS there should be an option to adjust the fan curve.

That's about how I diagnosed a crash issue I had. Turned out my cooler was junk. Just watched temps and talked to a buddy I played with making sure my line up of the crash was right. But if it's just doing it when you want to watch a YouTube video, you probably have a serious cooling issue.

That's GPU. They usually hover around 70c as they self limit.

CPU is what I'm interested in.

Actually your temps are fairly normal.

I think it's possible your fans might just suck. Were they included with the case and if yes who made the case? If no, who made the fans?

I honestly don't think it's the temps. The max my processor got was 77 degrees and apparently that's low for the 7700.

I think I need to adjust a setting to not always react to anything I do on the PC. Can't figure out how though

It's not, you maxed out at 85, which isn't necessarily ideal, but is also perfectly fine.

Yeah it could be. I have a iCue H100 for my processor fan and In-Win 309 chassis

I've manually reduced fans to the "quiet" setting so I'm sure I can get better temps. But I'm trying to not get my machine to sound like a spaceship lol

Okay, there's your problem. An AIO is always going to make some noise, and you can't really fix it because it's always going to run to circulate coolant up to the radiator even if the fans don't need to run as much to cool said coolant. I run a smaller AIO from EVGA and there's a fair bit of pump noise.

Honestly, your options are "change to a conventional cooler" or "wear headphones".
At this stage, headphones are probably cheaper.

Ahh that would explain it. It's not terrible but I've been using a laptop for about 2 years now. I'm not used to the noise

A headset would be a lot cheaper I agree lol. Do you have any recommendation

Adjust the fan curve in your BIOS. I had the same problem with my Gigabyte mobo. I tried using their software to adjust the fans but they still weren't quiet enough.

So, I live in a downstairs apartment with neighbors that don't understand there's no real sound deadening so I wear Bose headphones with active noise cancelling.

Which is to say, for a budget option, no I do not have any recommendations.

This is so wrong. A decent enough AIO should be almost inaudible, only noticable when the fans ramp up. Can you tell where the noise is coming from? Front? Back? Top?
My previous signature randomly started getting autoflagged after years of use. Now I have none. Thanks, autoflag.
