I prefer A&W or mug root beer. They have a nice smooth vanilla taste to them. Bark tastes too syrupy.

Root beer is the best drink period, and all three of the major brands are top tier.

Love root beer and it's my favorite one, but I've been trying to cut way back on sugar and completely off caffeine.

The three main brands are each better for certain applications. Barqs is the best for drinking, A&W is the best for floats, and Mug is best forgotten.

None have anything on Virgil's tho

It's not my first choice, but if A&W or IBC aren't available, it's serviceable.

When I drank soda, I drank Barq's root beer or 7UP.

To me, Barq's tasted "sharper" than other root beer. YMMV.

Barq's is good. IBC is my favorite root beer, shame they don't come in 6 packs anymore.

Barq's is great and they have a fantastic slogan, "It's good". Completely unbeatable.

Barq's is the best of the main root beer brands IMO.

I don't love root beer but it's nice every once in awhile. And root beer floats are awesome.

Pairs perfectly with Reese's peanut butter cups. The combo creates a slow motion version of the mentos and coke effect in your stomach. Creating an enormous burp that shakes eardrums. I quite enjoyed that trick as a kid, but i got gout now...

My favorite kind of root beer. Though I'm not a huge fan of root beer generally, so I only have it maybe once or twice a year if a vending machine doesn't have anything better.

Vastly superior to A&W and Mug, though.

Barq's is fine. I like it. I prefer A&W. I haven't had IBC in a good while but I liked that a lot. I also found some Dad's Root Beer a few months ago and that was pretty good as well.

My favorite kind of root beer (at least of the "big three" brands)

A&W is too sweet, and Mug is not sweet enough. Barq's hits the right spot while also (imo) having the most kick, which I like in a soda.

That was why I liked Barq's . All the flavor doesn't come from HFCS.
