I don't understand how you can be that delusional

I have to assume the sunk-cost fallacy is at play.

A lot of these guys were banging the Trump drum from the very beginning, and the only way they can feel good about their decision is to perform whatever mental gymnastics they need to to convince themselves Biden/the Democrats are equally as bad, if not worse

Conservatives literally see admitting that they were wrong as a weakness
I have nothing else to say
Remember before 2020 they thought the Hunter laptop was this HUGE story. Yeah how did that go for the independent voters?

But what about Trumps emails?

Conservatives will literally support Donald Trump and Matt Gaetz rather than go to therapy.
I know people who think the military is gonna reinstall Trump as president. Even if Trump wasn't facing a billion indictments, I'm not sure the military even has that kind of power.

You know, after 1/6, I guess I can't be too surprised that there would be people who would think, "We'll get 'em next time."

The last time they tried to overturn democracy through physical force, it ended badly. But the next time... when Trump is really in trouble... the whole army's gonna come to his rescue. They'll be there riding dinosaurs and wielding lightsabers.

There's no end to this craziness.

You have to stop thinking that conservatives are irrational dumbasses. Most of them are perfectly rational. You just have to understand that everything they do is in bad faith. It's all perfectly consistent within their world view. That view is "we can do whatever we want, you can only do what we allow" which is paired with the principle of "power is to be wielded by us, to benefit us, and against people we don't like".

It's not hypocrisy, it's not stupid, it's just selfish and mean spirited.

Once you understand that you'll have a way easier time figuring out their behavior and be able to predict their actions.
Furthermore, The GOP is a Fascist Organization and must be destroyed

A) not a Trump supporter. Never voted for him. Not being a full on liberal/socialist and not getting the covid vaccine gets me labeled as such. I don't care though.

That's also a very good point.

Literally nothing is more important to a conservative than winning. Debates and arguments for a conservative aren't ways of arriving at the truth, but rather tools to be used to shut down the opposition. As the alt-right playbook says, they literally "try on" different talking points just to see how effective they'll be, regardless of whether or not those talking points are ideologically inconsistent with other arguments they've made.
I have nothing else to say
@yemmy i guess you can't defend trump with any actual arguments eh? not surprising, his supporters never can

To this day there are Qtheorists trying to understand what Hillary's emails about a pizza party for staffers meant.
amazing the cultist freak about hillary (and now biden) emails while ignoring like 50% of trumps campaign and admin are convicted criminals and trump himself is very obviously a criminal who tried to kill democracy
