in General American, "intents" and "intense" are pronounced identically anyway.
I had a boss who said "physical year" instead of fiscal. I even said it correctly around them on multiple occasions but they never figured it out.

I have a co-worker who always says he wants to flush out ideas instead of flesh out ideas. It drives me bonkers.
An opinion does not turn into a fact simply because the person holding it feels strongly about it.
I had a coworker that insisted that it was "may that as it be," even when we had over a dozen people tell him that he was wrong and that it was "be that as it may."
