Advice for SMT1. Softlock? Spoilers.

Im playing the GBA version.

killed Echidna and Aniel, got access to the Basillica through the old man under Ginza, meaning Im definitely on the Neutral Path. Ive naturally killed 3 of the 4 Heavenly Kings as I came across their mansions, before being told to do so. Only 3.

When I enter the Basillica and encounter the Law/Chaos heroes bickering, they dont tell me to go kill the last Heavenly King. I was under the impression I would be forced to. Instead, an earthquake occurs and I assume this means Tokyo has been flooded. They tell me to go look outside.

However, how do I go outside? And what triggers? I cant go back through Ginza, the old man turns me back. If I go outside using the main entrance (near the chaos terminal), Im in an island area surrounded by water, but nothing super special happens. If I go back to the Law/Chaos heroes, they still tell me to go outside and see the flood.

idk what to do?

they were easy bosses. I just didnt bother killing the last one cuz I wasnt really out searching for them. It doesnt really matter now though, Tokyo is already flooded now (?)

or, at least the earthquake cutscene within the Basillica triggered. Nothing special seems to happen when I go outside, and the central doors to the Basillica remain shut.

I think the Law/Chaos heroes are supposed to tell me to go kill some gods like Vishnu or something, but they keep telling me to just go look outside, which I already did

I just remember killing the 4 kings, going to the imperial palace to get the special stuff and then finishing the game.

I like SMT1 but it's too easy to break. If I remember correctly almost every boss in the game can be stunned.

I just reached the Messian Terminal through a load of exploration. Nothing happens when I exit from this side either.

Also, I saved the Turtle and the Octopus. Theyre supposed to allow me to cross the ocean? But nothing happens.

Solved it. After saving the Turtle/Octopus you need to re-enter the room and theyll give you a whistle/bell to summon them.

I did that, swam around Tokyo a bit and saw the flooded buildings, and came back. Now the game is progressing.
