Have I missed something the past couple years with job hunting online?

Every job I apply for online sends me an email thanking me for my interest, and that they have either partnered with a survey company, or have a survey they would like me to fill out for "bonus earnings". I'm actually flabbergasted how many of these are happening. It really makes it difficult to find out if a job is legitimate or not.

Yeah.... worse part is that no one is willing to help me out properly. My college has pretty much abandoned college graduates in favor of people just getting out of college, and the work employment local offices can't help at all find me work. So I'm probably going to have to go back to retail, which will destroy my sanity.

Have you tried looking for government jobs? City, County, State and Federal each have their own openings.

Yeah, no luck. They made a massive deal last year saying "2 billion dollars into the IT sector for my province", but turns out its only programming jobs, not hardware/network repair like I studied.
