BattleBots Champions 2 side series to air starting October 5

To clarify, this is not a new season of the main World Championship. This is the same as last year's BattleBots Champions side series, which was 5 play-in tournaments to earn a spot in a Tournament of Champions alongside the 3 most recent bots to have won the Giant Nut in the main seasons.

Temper your expectations. I read on the wiki and on the BattleBots subreddit that these episodes (aside from the one with the season 6 winner and the Tournament of Champions) were filmed alongside the filming of the top 8 from season 6. That means none of the top 8 from season 6 will be participating except for the bot that won the season and automatically qualified for the Tournament of Champions. Copperhead and Riptide both made the top 8, so they won't be in this side series. That means no unnecessary Riptide drama, thank goodness.
