I've played Witcher 1 for a bit but gave up due to the clunky controls

Are 2 and/or 3 better in this regard? I hear mixed opinions when it comes to how playable it is when it comes to the controls.

I didn't like the controls of any of them. I tried all 3 and it just isn't the series for me. The controls are better each time, but still just clunky and unsatisfying.

But you might not be as finicky as me.

1's controls are just atrocious. they're not anything like the other two, and thank god. really horrible to play.

2's controls are stiff and not as varied as 3's. 3's is the "best" of the group, by far, but it's still not a great control system overall. still, nothing is like 1. 1 is in a horrible league of its own.

They all suck control and combat wise

They're really that bad, huh? What makes them so popular then, I wonder? Is the story just that good that people are willing to plow through the gameplay?

the next game they are making is an open world remake of witcher 1. Id just wait for that

I think different people just have different tolerances and likes. 3 is the one that really blew up, though. Especially with the DLC. It's just not my cut of beef. I don't knock the game for me not being able to enjoy the controls. I just moved on. I'm lucky I that I didn't have to pay for any of them. I have they gave 1 & 2 away. And I have Game Pass for free that had 3 on the service for a long while. It's just not for me.
