The combat in Midnight Suns uses movement and environmental attacks a lot, so I compare it more to Mario + Rabbids than XCOM. There's no cover, so the focus is generally on neutralizing as many big threats as you can each turn or stacking block on whichever character(s) will be attacked. I thought it was a lot of fun, but the story and writing are pretty bad, and the parts in-between missions are kind of tedious.
