sure they do it for dialogue, but I've noticed recently a lot of anime, especially on Netflix when dubbed still have Japanese text on things like status boxes or if the person is reading a newspaper.

For lesser important things I can understand why they don't subtitle it, but at the very least if something is key to the plot, put up some sort of English translation. At least until I learn basic kanji.

What's weird is those things are translated in the subtitle version on Netflix. It's not like they didn't do it at all, they were just too lazy to pop it in the dub version.

Pretty much every other place to stream dubs does text properly. It's just Netflix
I don't believe in belts. There should be no ranking system for toughness.
I think part of it is Netflix own limitations with subtitles

they can only do the closed caption style at the bottom. sure they could include text on screen there but it would be a jumbled mess. can't put floating text like YouTube translated subs
One punch man did that sometimes I think?

Yeah. I'm watching an anime called Good Night World which is actually fairly decent, but parts of it just aren't translated. It's really weird. It's a VR anime similar to a Sword Art Online, so they will have English menu screens, but now and then a monster will pop up and its description is in full Japanese. Kind of frustrating.
