i actually just changed over to meatless a few days ago. not cuz of this, but that's a nice bonus too
Eating less farmed meat, maybe. But I'm down for lab grown meat.
How about corporations get their shit together
If I could eat anything Id be willing to cut down on meat but due to some health reasons I already cant eat gluten, dairy, or soy, among some other minor things so I actually have a meat heavy diet because its one of the few things I can eat and tolerate.
but I gotta do what I gotta do. I cant eliminate everything.
nice! are you replacing meat with "fake meat" or with other protein sources, like beans, lentils, tofu, etc?whatever strikes my fancy a given week. its been beans and nuts so far
other bonuses include being healthier and having more money.
I haven't read the article, but I remember hearing about how the meat trade hurts the earth in multiple ways.
like, huge amounts of trees are cut down in the Amazon to make way for cow farms.
and all the extra cows means more methane.
how do you feel about beans (not soy) and lentils? rice + beans make a great meal. i have numerous lentil recipes too. i make a darn good lentil ragu.
i mean, yes, but I'm not sure what this has to do with the topic. we can all contribute without too much hassle by shifting our diets even just a little bit.
Nope. I've tried meatless meat. It's disgusting af.
I mean yea but it feels like what we can do is like a cubic cm size drop in all of the worlds oceans. So much so it feels irrelevant
yup. not to mention all the agriculture that is produced just to feed livestock. it takes ~16 lbs of food to produce 1 lb of beef. and all of that food needs to be grown, harvested, processed and transported to the farms.true, good point.
Eating less farmed meat, maybe. But I'm down for lab grown meat.I can't wait for lab-grown Wagyu.
Now, if people can't afford it or something, totally get it. I haven't done a cost comparison to know if it's super different in price or not.I dunno about meat-imitation options, but things like legumes are cheaper than meats
If anything, Ill switch to eating more chicken and fish. I need to cut down on red meats.
I don't think I will give up meat ever as long as billionaires do so while tell me to not eat meat.do you think most researchers are billionaires? do you think TC is a blilionaire??
I'm sure my local grocery store throws away more unsold meat in a week than I would save in a lifetime of cutting back my own meat consumption.
I'm sure my local grocery store throws away more unsold meat in a week than I would save in a lifetime of cutting back my own meat consumption.Overproduction is a big factor in this and it's not just meat
