It was pretty good. I think it was a fine abridgement of the game. Had fun doing the "Leo DiCaprio point" at things I remembered from the game (surprised how much I did since I haven't played TLoU1 in several years).

Anyway, since I missed all the discussions about it, were there any interesting spicy takes or controversies or whatever about it? I know the general consensus seems to be that it was a good adaptation, but I'm interested anything notable people said about it. >_>

even though viewers would tend to like it, there were some who complained about episode 3 (and episode 9).

there were also people who kept complaining about how the actress didn't look like Ellie.
Don't you agree, Zach?

Yep these were the two things people whined about most. That and the lack of infected

I think most of the regular complaints were along the lines of "8/10 not enough water--I mean, zombies".

S2 will definitely get shat on more. People have already begun saying "the actress they cast as Abby looks more like Ellie than Bella Ramsey did", to say the least.
the interesting thing about the actress they might have found for Abby is *Uncharted 4 spoilers* she played Nathan and Elena's daughter at the end

All in all it was a decent first season. I didnt like how they nerfed the hospital scene. But oh well.

Of course, episode 3. That must've had....interesting...reactions. I thought it was fine. Departure from the game, yes, but there seems to be a push for Hollywood to give gay couples a happy ending. >_> (A similar change was done in House of the Dragon). I thought Nick Offerman did great acting.

As for Ellie, I'll admit there were some times the thought "she's an odd-looking girl" crossed my mind. <_<

I actually didn't mind the lack of Infected. Zombie shows are pretty played out now, there wasn't much they could do that would've been more interesting than Joel and Ellie's journey.

I thought Ellie was great.

I didnt like Episode 3 too much; it was boring and literally nothing happened except Joel got a truck >_>

The side plot was okay but the dude is a fucking dumbass and just stood in the middle of the road to shoot at bandits instead of hiding behind cover. All those smarts with the electric fence but no brains to protect yourself with cover >_>

Yeah, though I actually kinda like the alternative they had. I think I read that the writers were wanting to include spores in the future seasons as a way to show that the fungus is evolving.

Joel turning into Rambo during the hospital scene worked in the game but it wouldnt have worked in the show
I thought it was pretty good but I kept seeing people acting like it was peak prestige television and honestly I think that's just bc people's standards for video game movies and shows is in the gutter. It was hardly breaking bad or first half of GOT good.
Let's all please just get along.

Yeah, I just watched the last episode and I felt like it rushed by way too fast. I think it definitely could've used an episode 10
There is no good. There is no evil. There just is.
Not enough infected and ew gay people was basically it

i didnt like it. tbh when i played tlou for the first time a couple of years ago i thought 'this story reminds me of some generic prestige tv show' and lo and behold it gets turned into one.

using exact dialogue or shots from the games is cringe. i don't like when adaptations are slavish to their source material. and of course the best episode was easily the one that most diverted from the games.

tlou2 is one of my absolute favorite games and i'm worried to see how its adapted. i don't think mazin and druckmann have the juice to do it justice.

Some people complained that the actress playing a 14 year old wasn't hot enough. Yeah, that really happened.
It is impossible to live in the past, difficult to live in the present, and a waste to live in the future.
