oh boy, even more Google shenanigansNice, now explain to me what this is and where do I do with it
A user has noticed that YouTube under Firefox adds in a 5 second delay, but using Chrome (or even just a user agent switcher), the delay is gone

Google has issued a statement on the issue, blaming ad blockers (of course)

btw this is the uBlock Origin filter rule to fix it

But I'm okay with ppl like you giving up and adopting chrome because the less people use ublock, the less reason for Google to try to mess with it. I'll be a free rider while you pay up
i use ublock in desktop, but desktop probably accounts for 5% of my youtube usage, adblockers havent been that relevant to me, ive mostly used youtube on ps4/smartphones etcDo you use iPhone? On android it's pretty simple to download a YouTube apk with ads blocked + extra features
Nothing. I just believe in property rights.I have a very diversified portfolio of physical assets and stocks. I worked hard to acquire these and don't understand why people think they are entitled to private property for free.I can't wait for companies to start charging for the air we breathe. I want to see how you justify it.

Nice, now explain to me what this is and where do I do with itYou mean the filter rule? You just open up the uBlock Origin dashboard, click "My filters", and paste the code in
it is only $14 a month.More than Disney+, Prime Video, and Apple TV.
YouTube needs to be sued for this, YT Premium is too expensive and forcing people to get it for a good experience is illegal. In what way? Youtube is not a right. It's a business. They could gate everything behind a pay wall if they want. Is charging for Netflix illegal?

For TV I have a dedicated PC instead of a console

Would this not fall under some net neutrality shit
I dunno
Pretty sure it would but you knowWhen the new non cringe FCC guy got put in I thought that got changed back
That's not a thing anymore. Wonder if Google payrolled that?
Would this not fall under some net neutrality shitNo. Websites performing better in certain browsers over others is as old as the internet.

it is only $14 a month. Its $20 a month in Aus for a single person subscription. Absolutely not worth it even if it was a quarter that
Its $20 a month in Aus for a single person subscription. Absolutely not worth it even if it was a quarter thatDon't buy it then, and deal with ads, or just don't go there any more. Not sure I see the problem. Plenty of other services offer ad-supported and ad-free tiers. Why isn't youtube allowed to do that?

I wont buy and wont deal with ads but Ill keep using it. Nothing unethical about adblockers. There isn't anything unethical about youtube fighting them, and if they eventually completely eliminate their use, you will not have been slighted. They do not owe you anything.
Which system of ethics, or what ethical principal did you use to determine this?Blocking access to and from an untrusted host is basic cybersecurity.
